Compétition à Magoito Beach

Un super moment !

Chaque année, une compétition locale a lieu à Magoito Beach (Portugal) à côté de là où nous sommes logés. D'habitude, elle a lieu après Sintra et cette année, ils ont décidé de la lancer avant.

Every year a local contest is organized in Magoito Beach (Portugal), next to our home. Usually this comp happens after the Sintra Pro and this year they decided to launch it before.

Ainsi quelques internationaux ont pu y assister tels que les frères Hubbard, Alex Uranga, Banat El, Hermano Castro, Brahim Iddouch, Reda Benhima et leurs copains marocains. Nous étions environ quarante riders en Open, il y avait aussi les épreuves Féminines, Junior et Senior. C'était la huitième édition. On a eu des vagues sympas pendant les deux jours, et de la chance car la veille de la compétition il n'y avait pas de vagues et aujourd'hui c'est de nouveau flat. J'ai démarré la compétition par les éliminatoires, en surfant mon premier tour sans combinaison et j'ai réalisé que l'eau était plutôt froide. La seule chose à faire était de rester actif dans l'eau et de surfer un maximum!

Ce genre de compétition amicale est un concept vraiment sympathique et on a tous énormément apprécié. Passant nos journées sur la plage au soleil, avec de la musique, des filles, des copains et la passion du boogie. C'était un moment génial. Après quelques tours, je suis arrivé en finale avec Reda Benhima et Brahim Iddouch (Maroc) et Nick Rosner(Portugal). Le niveau de la finale était bon, chacun a pu prendre de bonnes vagues et les juges ont déclaré que c'était vraiment serré. Finalement, c'est Reda Benhima qui l'a emporté devant moi, puis Nick (3ème) and Brahim (4ème). La journée s'est terminée par un podium débordant de bonne humeur et de bonnes ondes.

Then few international riders could participate as the Hubb brothers, Alex Uranga, Banat El, Hermano Castro, Brahim Iddouch, Reda Benhima and their friends from Morocco. We were 40 riders more or less in the Open categorie and they were also Women, Juniors and Seniors. It was the 8th Edition.
We had some fun waves for the two days, pretty lucky as the day before it was flat and today Monday also flat. I started the comp in the trials, doing my first heat with no suit and realized that the water was a bit too cold. The only good thing was that I had to stay really act. This type of friendly comp is a really nice concept and everybody enjoyed it so much. Staying all day on the beach with sun, music, girls, friends and passion for bodyboarding… Such a nice week end.
So after a few heats I arrived in the final with Reda Benhima and Brahim Iddouch from Morocco and Nick Rosner from Portugal. The level in the final was pretty high, everybody had some good waves and judges told us that it was really close. At the end, the Moroccan Reda Benhima who finish first, I get the second place, Nick 3rd and Brahim 4th.
We finish the day with a really nice podium full of happiness and with such good vibes.
