| Arica, Dimanche 27 mai. Dave Winchester a remporté le Arica Chilean Challenge 2012 en battant Guilherme Tamega sur la corde dans les dernières secondes sur des vagues glassy de 2 mètres. Une belle revanche pour l'Australien qui s'était incliné en 2011 derrière le Brésilien. | Arica, Sunday, 27th May Australia’s Dave Winchester has won the 2012 Arica Chilean Challenge Grand Slam in glassy 6 foot (2 meter) waves at El Gringo today. Winchester topped last years event winner Guilherme Tamega (BRA) in the dying seconds of the final. |

| Mercredi 23 Mai Ciel bleu et soleil avec des vagues plus lentes qu'hier, mais de l'action pour tous les riders présents sur le spot de El Gringo pour les Tours 2 et 3 du GSS Arica Chilean Challenge. Amaury toujours gêné pour la marche par sa blessure au mollet a fait le show, en gagnant sa série haut la main avec deux bonnes vagues (barrel-back flip and deux back flips) terminant avec un score de 15,64 pts. "Je suis super content de gagner cette série, bien que les vagues soient plus lentes et moins nombreuses qu'hier. Mais toujours consistantes. J'ai pu en prendre deux bonnes et m'exprimer. Je suis content de voir que Danton Correa le local del Gringo passe avec moi, c'est bon pour lui et ses supporters." Lorsqu'Alex Leon lui parle de sa blessure, Moz répond: "Avec le stress et la concentration, pendant les séries, je ne sens rien dans l'eau, je l'oublie. Je peux surfer et rester vraiment concentré." Amaury remercie tous ceux qui le soutiennent de puis La Réunion, la France et partout et il est impatient de voir disputer la série suivant la sienne dans le Tour 3 avec Jeff Hubbard - Uri Valadao and Guilherme Tamega: trois champions du monde! Au tour 4, série 22, Amaury et Danton se retrouveront avec les deux premiers de cette série: ça promet! Allez Moz, reste concentré et déterminé. Et vous, restez connectés! |
Wednesday, May 23 A nice sunny day with slower waves but big action for all the riders competing on El Gringo in Rounds 2 and 3 of the GSS Arica Chilean Challenge. Amaury still limping with his calf injury was able to make the show and win his heat hands down, with two good waves (barrel-back flip and two back flips) with a 15,64pts score. "I'm pretty stocked to win this heat, although the waves were slower and not as strong as yesterday. But quite consistent. I got two good ones and I could express myself. I'm happy to see that Danton Correa, the local Chilean guy is second, it's good for him and his supporters." As Alex Leon asked him about his infury, Moz answered: "With emotion and concentration, during the heats, I don't feel nothing in the water, I forget it. Then I can surf and stay really focused." Amaury thanks everyone for the support from Reunion Island, France and everywhere and looks forward seeing the next heat of Round 3, with Jeff Hubbard - Uri Valadao and Guilherme Tamega: three world champs! In Round 4, Heat 22 Amaury and Danton will meet the two first guys of this heat: it will be sick, for sure!!! Go on Moz, keep on focused and determined. And, you, stay tuned! |

| Lundi, 21 mai 2012 Le Marocain Brahim Iddouch a remporté les Trials du Arica Chilean Challenge. The Marocain volant a été invulnérable pendant toutes ses séries, enchaînant les tubes et les back-flips sur le terrible reef de El Gringo. "Je suis si heureux ed gaganer ces qualifications. La veille de mon arrivée ici, j'ai enfin signé avec un sponsor et aujourd'hui je gagne. Il se passe plein de trucs" se félicite Brahim. "Je suis vraiment excité à l'idée d'entrer dans le tableau principal." En finale des trials, Iddouh a battu Damian King (2è), Alan Munoz (3è) et Sacha Specker (4è). | Monday, May 21, 2012 Morocco's Brahim Iddouch has taken out the Trials of the 2012 IBA Stealth Arica Chilean Challenge. The high-flying Moroccan was unstoppable thoughout all his heats, linking up incredibly deep tube rides with huge backflips over the infamous El Gringo reef. "I am so happy to win these trials. Just one day before coming here I secured a financial sponsorship and today I won. So many good things have happened", Iddouch elated. "I am really excited for the main event." In the final, Iddouch finished ahead of Damian King (Port Mac/AUS) in second, Alan Munoz (CHL) in third and Doug Smith (Port Mac/AUS) in fourth. |

The trials will most likely start on Friday the 18th of Mayand are expected to run for a duration of 3-4 days. |
